MISSION:

The mission of the Magnuson Environmental Stewardship Alliance is to educate and involve the community in the stewardship of Warren G. Magnuson Park. Our purpose includes enhancing the habitat for native plants, animals and birds so that there is greater diversity of wildlife as well as insuring that the park is a safe, aesthetically pleasing environment for its residents and visitors.

Goals

1. Preventing net loss of passive park habitat, removal of invasive plants, and maintenance of existing areas.

6. Working with park and city administration to be pro-active in decisions concerning park environmental issues.

7.  Take into consideration environmental impacts of park safety issues and solutions.

8. To continue to recommend the hiring of a Park Ranger Naturalist for Magnuson Park.

2. Promoting park design consistent with our mission and the restoration of the historic lake and wetlands areas.             

3. Facilitating scientific volunteers' review of park development plans to ensure appropriate, workable habitat maintenance, improvement, and design.

4. Promoting community involvement in stewardship and restoration of the park

5. Promoting site wide environmental awareness.
